Kyo-Shin-An Arts has commissioned 33 composers with over 60 works among them.
NEW COMMISSIONS AND UPCOMING CONCERTS
During the pandemic we had the joy of broadcast premieres featuring Bow Down by Randy Woolf and Manas by Masatora Goya for piano, cello and shakuhachi, as well as Japan Songs, an eclectic song collection for soprano, shakuhachi and piano trio featuring songs by Victoria Bond, Douglas J. Cuomo, James Matheson, Paul Moravec, Jay Reise and Aleksandra Vrebalov. Spring 2022 we are performing them live along with new works by Justin Hines, Victoria Bond and James Nyoraku Schlefer. Don’t miss March 6 and June 12, 2022! Tickets are available.
Upcoming in October and November 2022 - two huge new works! Premiering October 9, 2022, our first sextet for Piano Trio and Sankyoku composed by Takuma Itoh and performed by the Neave Trio with Sumie Kaneko, Yoko Reikano Kimura and James Nyoraku Schlefer. Then on November 13, 2022, a new sextet for shakuhachi, koto and string quartet by Aleksandra Vrebalov. featuring the Arianna String Quartet with James and Yoko.
